ERMAC 2024 Summer School & Research Conference an der Wirtschaftsuniversität (WU) Wien
Vom 23. bis 25. Juni 2024 fand an der Wirtschaftsuniversität (WU) Wien die „Empirical Research in Management Accounting & Control (ERMAC) Summer School and Research Conference“ statt.
Mit Sebastian Gaschler, M.Sc., und Dominik Zink, M.Sc., nahmen zwei Vertreter des Lehrstuhls für Rechnungswesen und Controlling (Prof. Dr. Thomas M. Fischer) an der Konferenz teil und stellten ihre aktuellen Forschungsprojekte „Decoding Voluntary M&A Disclosures with RoBERTa: A Deep Dive into Information Asymmetry and Investors’ Growth Expectations and Risk Perceptions“ bzw. „Voluntary innovation disclosures and capital market performance: Automated textual analysis of Form 10-Ks“ vor. Die Teilnehmenden der Konferenz gaben wertvolles Feedback zur Weiterentwicklung der beiden empirischen Studien.
Darüber hinaus fand ein sehr interessantes Rahmenprogramm statt, welches durch internationale Key Note Speaker aktuelle spannende Themen im Bereich der Unternehmenssteuerung beleuchtete. Wir danken den Gastgebern an der WU Wien, Professorin Dr. Isabella Grabner und Professor Dr. Gerhard Speckbacher, dem Organisationsteam sowie den Teilnehmenden sehr herzlich für die gelungene Konferenz und den inspirierenden Austausch!
From June 23 to 25, 2024, the “Empirical Research in Management Accounting & Control (ERMAC) Summer School and Research Conference” was held at the Wirtschaftsuniversität (WU) Wien (Vienna University of Economics and Business).
Two research assistants from the Chair of Accounting and Management Control (Prof. Dr. Thomas M. Fischer) attended the conference and presented their current research projects “Decoding Voluntary M&A Disclosures with RoBERTa: A Deep Dive into Information Asymmetry and Investors’ Growth Expectations and Risk Perceptions” (Sebastian Gaschler, M.Sc.) and “Voluntary innovation disclosures and capital market performance: Automated textual analysis of Form 10-Ks” (Dominik Zink, M.Sc.). The participants of the conference provided valuable feedback on the further development of the two empirical studies.
In addition, the conference featured a very interesting program with international key note speakers highlighting current exciting topics in the field of management control. We would like to thank the hosts at WU Vienna, Professor Dr. Isabella Grabner and Professor Dr. Gerhard Speckbacher, the organization team, and the participants for the successful conference and the inspiring exchange!
